If you saw Freddie Gibbs’ #FlatTummyTea tweet yesterday, maybe you thought Gangsta Gibbs had sold his soul to the herbal detox scam — or he was just being his usual trolling self. Turns out it was an #ad for the first single from his and Madlib’s highly anticipated sophomore collaboration, Bandana.
Bandana‘s been five years in the making, but “Flat Tummy Tea” picks up right where their 2014 album Piñata left off as Freddie Kane blacks out over a double-sided heat rock from the Beat Konducta. I challenge any rapper to spit a harder opening line than “I beat the pot like Joseph beat Mike and Jermaine”.
