Travis Scott lands his first-ever No. #1 record as “SICKO MODE” takes the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart this week. After two consecutive weeks, and an overall four weeks at No. 2, the Drake-featured track dethrones Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next.” The news comes one day after Scott’s ASTROWORLD returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart this week. Scott is the third artist this year to top both charts simultaneously in 2018, following Drake and Camila Cabello. Along with special edition Black Friday merchandise packages that came with a free digital copy of Scott’s album, the recently released “SICKO MODE” remix with Skrillex helped the Houston rapper achieve both feats.
“I don’t know how I’m writing this right now … it’s so many emotions. Just super-thankful to all the fans and supporters,” says Scott in statement to Billboard. “Me and Drake been working to make something so crazy for the kids. It’s dope that one of our illest collaborations just went No. 1. I just want to thank him and the whole OVO fam for everything. And love to Skrillex!”
