Smino and Monte Booker is one of the best producer-rapper partnerships in rap right now. But the St. Louis spitter also has excellent chemistry with Sango; between “blkswn” and “Khlorine,” Smino’s dexterous drawl slides effortlessly into pocket over the Soulection producer’s quirky, speaker-rattling sounds.
Today, the pair are back with a new collaboration called “L.M.F.” which not only extends their unbeaten streak, but contains an incredible Lion King reference (“Said she Rafiki, you a lion, Mufasa / Baby ain’t nothing bout me PG, rated X for extraordinary”). “L.M.F.” follows up the two loosies — “in my chillin” and “coupe se’ yern” — Smino dropped this summer.
